What I Can Make You
Six things I do well, whether the result ends up on a screen, on a press, or on a workbench. Every project is quoted individually, so tell me what you need and I’ll price it honestly.
Brand Identity & Logo Design
A logo is the smallest part of a brand, but it’s the part that has to work hardest. I build marks that hold up at every size, in one color, and five years from now. Then I give you the type, color and usage rules that keep everything consistent.
- Primary logo plus alternate and horizontal lockups
- Type and color systems with usage guidance
- Business cards and print collateral
- All final files in the formats you actually need
Illustration & Commissioned Art
Original artwork made to a brief: editorial illustration, portraits of people and pets, character work, or a piece for your wall. I work in vector, digital painting, pencil, acrylic and printmaking, and I’ll suggest whichever suits the subject.
- Editorial and publication illustration
- Commissioned portraits of people and pets
- Book, album and character artwork
- Digital or traditional media
Print & Publication Design
Covers, layouts and print collateral, set up properly for press. I’ve designed a published magazine cover and worked directly with printing presses, CNC and laser engraving, so I know what survives the trip from screen to paper and what doesn’t.
- Magazine and publication covers
- Multi-page layout and typesetting
- Business cards, flyers and print collateral
- Press-ready files with correct bleed, color and resolution
Custom Handcrafted Goods
Made at a bench, by hand, one at a time. Leatherwork and woodwork: bracers, sheaths, shields, stands and one-off pieces built to your specification. Lead times depend on the piece, and I’ll be upfront about them before you commit.
- Tooled leather: bracers, sheaths, straps and accessories
- Woodwork: shields, stands and functional pieces
- Hand-made jewelry and pendants
- Built to your specification
Custom Painted & Wearable Pieces
Artwork applied to objects people actually carry, wear and use. Instrument artwork is a favorite, because a guitar, ukulele or drum head is a canvas with a shape all its own. I also make small runs of pins, keychains and charms from original drawings.
- Custom instrument artwork: ukulele, guitar and more
- Pins, keychains and charms from original artwork
- Small runs for events, bands or merch
- Artwork designed to fit the object, not just placed on it
Web Design
Sites built on the same principles as the print work: clear hierarchy, real typography, generous space, and nothing decorative for its own sake. A website should be easy to read and easy to use before it’s anything else.
Straight answer on this one. The site I previously designed has since been reworked by its owner, so I can’t point you at it as current work. What I can point at is this site: I designed and built it, and it’s a fair sample of how I approach layout, type and structure on the web.
- Layout and visual design for small business sites
- Typography and color systems that carry across pages
- Responsive design that genuinely works on a phone
- Designs structured to hand off cleanly to WordPress
Original Prints for Sale
Not a service, just a shelf. I have original hand-pulled prints available from my printmaking work, including the I Am series and Silent Perseverance.
These were pulled by hand from plates I etched myself, so no two are identical. Some are unique variants with chine-collé work in red and gold Eastern paper. If a piece in the portfolio catches your eye, ask me what’s still available and I’ll tell you what’s left, what size it is, and what it costs.
How working together goes
With a conversation. Send me a note through the contact form or by email describing what you’re trying to accomplish. I’ll come back with questions, usually more than you expect, because the brief is where projects are won or lost. Once I understand the goal, I’ll send you a quote and a rough timeline.
Less than you’d think. The goal, who it’s for, where it will be used, and any hard constraints, like a deadline, a size, or colors you must or must not use. If you have references you like, send them. If you don’t, that’s fine; part of my job is finding the direction with you.
It depends entirely on the piece. A logo with a couple of rounds of revision is a different animal from a hand-tooled leather sheath. I’ll give you a realistic timeline before you commit, and if something slips you’ll hear it from me before you have to ask.
Everything is quoted individually, because the range is wide. A set of keychains and a full brand identity aren’t comparable. Tell me the scope and I’ll give you a straight number, along with what’s included and what would count as extra. No surprise invoices.
Whatever you actually need to use the work. For a logo that typically means vector files, transparent PNGs, and versions prepared for both print and screen. For print work, press-ready PDFs with correct bleed and color. I’ll also tell you which file to use where, so you’re not guessing later.
Yes. Handmade goods, prints and artwork can be shipped. Shipping is quoted separately based on size, weight and destination. Local pickup around Green Bay is also an option if that’s easier for you.
Absolutely. Design work is location-independent and I’m comfortable working entirely over email and video calls. Physical pieces just need a shipping address and a bit more lead time.
Tell me what you need
The contact form walks you through a few questions so we both start with a clear picture. It takes about two minutes, or just email me if you’d rather keep it loose.
